Big Win for Loan Officers: Statement Marketing Messaging
Effective February 8, all monthly mortgage statements for loans that Supreme Lending services now include the contact information of the Loan Officer who originated the loan. Displaying this information every month keeps the Loan Officer top of mind with past customers when they are evaluating their current mortgage and considering their future home financing needs. If the Loan Officer is no longer with Supreme, the statement shows contact information for the Branch or our National Production Services Team, if the Branch is no longer part of Supreme.
Loan Officers: Share Why Supreme Is a 5-Star Lender

For its annual 5-Star Lenders report, MPA Magazine is inviting loan originators only to share their feedback about mortgage lenders by submitting a quick survey. Responses will help shape the 5-Star Lenders report, which recognizes top-performing mortgage companies in the country. Supreme’s participation in these types of surveys helps with recruiting efforts and brand recognition. The 5-Star Lenders will be announced in MPA’s May 2022 issue.

Please take a moment to complete the survey linked below and share why Supreme is a 5-Star Lender. The deadline is Friday, February 18.

On this day, the Lock Desk will be open and will issue a rate sheet, but the Wire Desk will be unable to process wires, resuming normal functions on Tuesday, February 22.

Help Supreme Lending Become an Inc. Magazine Best Workplace

Supreme Lending is excited to be a nominee for the 2022 Inc. Best Workplaces program. This annual competition is held to honor companies across the country that are dedicated to creating a fun, challenging, and rewarding workplace. Even though several of us have been working from home because of COVID, we’ve remained a strong unit, and we are proud of the culture we are maintaining for our team members.

A part of the selection includes anonymously surveying our employees. Wednesday, February 2, you’ll receive an email from Quantum Workplace (BestPlaces@QuantumWorkplace.com) that includes instructions and a unique link to complete the employee opinion survey. We’re asking that you please take a moment to provide your feedback about working at Supreme.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Please answer honestly and take your time (it shouldn’t take longer than about 10 minutes to complete)!
  2. This is a confidential survey conducted by an outside firm, so your identity is completely secure and will not be released.
  3. At the end, there is a section for optional written comments. Please note that Supreme will be able to view these comments, so if you wish to remain anonymous, please don’t provide any details here that would identify you.
  4. Don’t forward the survey email. Each person has a unique survey link to prevent multiple responses.
  5. Surveys must be completed by Friday, February 18!
  6. If you don’t receive your email by tomorrow, check your junk mailbox to see if it landed there. If you accidentally delete the email, automated reminders will be sent.

This Month’s Tip: Tax-Related Phishing

Tax season is upon us, bringing a perennial threat: tax-related phishing attacks. These attacks are particularly dangerous because they tend to target sensitive information that can give cybercriminals direct access to an individual’s or an organization’s money. Tax-related phishing emails often impersonate government tax agencies or organizations that assist with tax preparation and filing.

Here’s an example:

What to watch for:

Does the sender’s email address fully match what you would expect? Are there any prompts to click a link or download an attachment?

Learn more about spotting tax-related phishing emails and tips to staying cybersafe in this month’s Bulletin available here.

Supreme Swag Store Update

We’re getting a lot of questions about available inventory in our Swag Store, and so we want to clear up some of these inquiries in NOW.

Presently, we have a limited inventory of some apparel items. That doesn’t necessarily mean that a product is completely unavailable; we just might not have it in a certain size. Our suppliers have discontinued a couple styles, but because we still have some inventory, they are still for sale on Ignite. Our vendors are also experiencing supply chain issues, so it is taking longer to restock items. If you are looking for a particular size or item, please reach out to Marketing@SupremeLending.com with details of your request, and we can research the product for you.

The good news is, we are restocking our store with a selection of more up-to-date apparel and popular requests like branded lip balm, items for babies and small children, and closing gifts. We will also be running a clearance sale to offload older items and make room for new. We expect the store to be restocked and the sale to begin within the next month. Watch for more info!

Supreme Day in January?

Next Friday, Supreme will commemorate our official “date formed” in the NMLS—January 21—via social media. This fun, informal celebration is meant to build awareness of the benefits of working at Supreme for recruiting and unify our team in sharing what we love about Supreme. Consider this an additional day to revel Supreme, in addition to our anniversary which is celebrated in June. We can’t wait to see your short-and-simple social media posts and videos—like this one from Branch Manager Candice McNaught—on Friday, January 21. #SupremeDay

Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Notice

On Monday, January 17, Supreme Lending will not be observing Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Day as a corporate holiday and will remain open. However, it is a federal holiday and banks will not be operating. It will not be considered a business day in the rescission period for refinances.

The Lock Desk will be open on MLK Day and will issue a rate sheet. Since banks will not be operating on MLK Day, the Wire Desk will be unable to process wires on this day and will resume normal functions on Tuesday, January 18.

See the Closing Bulletin for full details, including updated rescission dates and the Closing Disclosure Calendar, by clicking here.

Hybrid eClosing Pilot Update

We’re excited to announce that Supreme has partnered with Snapdocs to launch hybrid eClosing capabilities. This will provide our customers an enhanced digital closing experience and increase efficiencies. We’re launching a pilot on Friday, January 14, to test the technology and plan to roll out this solution companywide in phases throughout 2022.

How Does Snapdocs Work?

  • Gives borrowers the ability to review and eSign closing documents in advance of their closing appointments.
  • Sends and receives closing documents to and from settlement in a central location.
  • Allows for a single place to communicate with the loan team, borrower, and settlement.

Be on the lookout for more information, training, and resources as we implement this new solution.

FAQs About 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements

1098 Mortgage Interest Statements are tax documents used to report the amount of mortgage interest paid by the borrower and may help them take advantage of some home tax deductions. Here’s what to know about Supreme’s 2021 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements:

  • All statements to borrowers will be mailed no later than Monday, January 31, 2022.
  • To be eligible to receive a statement from Supreme Lending, borrowers must have paid $600 or more to Supreme in 2021 in any combination of interest, points, and mortgage insurance.
  • Reportable points are only eligible for purchase primary residence transactions.
    • Refinancing, second home, and investment property are not eligible.
  • IRS reporting is limited to a single borrower’s name and social security number.
    • If there are multiple borrowers on a loan, only the purchase primary borrower’s information will be reported.
    • Multiple borrowers will need to properly allocate their contributions of the reported items they paid if filing individually. Supreme doesn’t issue a 1098 for each borrower.
Share Supreme’s Success in 2021

Available this week in Ignite is a ready-made, compliance-approved social media post to share Supreme’s total number of loans closed (53,686) and volume funded ($15,969,864,404). Use this post to thank customers, business partners, and vendors for their support.

Auto Pilot Program Can Now Post to Instagram on Your Behalf

You will need to connect the pages yourself.
