Supreme Will Be Closed Monday, September 5, for Labor Day

In observance of Labor Day, Supreme’s offices will be closed Monday, September 5, 2022. Labor Day isn’t considered a business day and cannot be included in the recession period for refinances or waiting periods.

As a federal holiday, banks will not be open for business; therefore, the Wire Desk will be unable to process wires and the Lock Desk will not issue a rate sheet. As a reminder, all locks must be valid through the disbursement date. Please be sure to request any necessary extensions to accommodate the rescission period as well as the lock expiration date.

Click here for the Bulletin with full details, including rescission dates and the closing disclosure calendar.

Tech Tip: Zoom vs. Teams Meeting Invites in Outlook

As Supreme Team members continue to use both Zoom and Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings and calls, here’s a tech tip when sending meeting calendar invitations in Outlook. For Zoom invitations, make sure to disable the option to join the meeting on Teams to avoid confusion. To do that in Outlook, go to File > Options > Calendar and unselect the option “Add online meeting to all meetings,” pictured below.

When creating a new meeting invite, you can also disable the online meeting feature by clicking on the Teams tab in the top left corner and selecting Don’t Host Online, pictured below.

Meet Benita and Jerry Ladd and Their Supreme Team in Kentucky

  • Branch Location: Down in the western end of Kentucky. We are in what we would call the hub as there are several smaller towns around us that we serve, including Benton, Mayfield, Murray, Ledbetter, Kuttawa, Eddyville, and Princeton, just to name a few. We are also just about 7 miles from the Illinois border, so we service that area as well.
  • History With Supreme: 11 years this December. It’s a long story as to why we came to Supreme. To sum it up, after meeting with the Corporate office for a couple of hours, we had a break and Benita and Jerry looked at each other and said, “This is it!” It feels like home, so here we are still 11 years later.
  • Branch Team Members: There are four!
    • Benita and Jerry Ladd, husband-and-wife, Branch Manager and Loan Officer team.
    • Denise Keith, who has worked with the Ladds for 15+ years.
    • Beverly Ladd, who worked with the Ladds for 7 years prior and has been back on the team for 2 years.
  • Branch Motto: We may have problems, but CLOSING LOANS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!

Beverly Ladd and Denise Keith

  • Typical Day at Your Branch: There is nothing typical about your day when you are in the mortgage business. They’re always full of surprises, LOL!
  • Recent Team Achievements: We never missed a loan closing during COVID. We even closed loans in the parking lot in the rain.
  • Team’s Key to Success: Hustle! Do not just be an order taker. Do your job. Take and submit complete loan applications and files. Hold yourself responsible. Review your documents, dot your I’s, and cross your T’s.
  • Favorite Thing About Working at Supreme: We are one big, happy family!
  • Fun Fact About the Branch: We have a fur baby, Pogo, who is our Branch’s Director of Security and Stress Management. She even has her own business cards. The customers just love her!

Tip of the Month: How to Access Supreme Lending Resources From Outside of the United States

With personal and business travel resuming, many of us may need to stay connected to the office while on the go by using our Supreme Lending laptops. While this is not a problem when traveling within the continental United States, it is challenging when traveling abroad.

To prevent cybercriminals from remotely accessing our networks for nefarious purposes, access to Supreme resources is blocked from locations outside of the United States. This is a common practice used by many organizations to eliminate easy access for attackers. For team members who need to log in from international locations, we will need to set up special access to our systems and resources.

Requests for laptop/desktop remote access from international locations must be submitted by the employee via a Service Desk ticket 5 business days prior to departure.

Read the full bulletin that includes the new policy and process linked below.

Meet Katie Klaske, Regional Underwriting Manager

  • Hometown: Neenah, WI
  • First Job: ‘Kennel Crew’ at a local animal hospital caring for sick and/or boarded dogs and cats along with cleaning the building.
  • History With Supreme: I started with Supreme as an Underwriter in August 2015. I knew absolutely no one here. BUT, to this day, coming to Supreme was the best decision! In early 2020 I moved to the Underwriting Team Lead position and then to my current role, Regional Underwriting Manager, in June 2020. I love my current role and team so much!
  • Favorite Thing About Supreme: Being here for almost seven years, Supreme has grown quite a bit but it still feels like a close-knit family. Everyone helps and supports one another.

  • Special Interests and Hobbies: Besides being outdoors with my family, I love to cook (trying to hone in my skills and recipes on my smoker, as of late) and host friends and family at our home.
  • Favorite Book: Believe It by Jamie Kern Lima. In 2022, I set a goal to read a handful of motivational books. Believe It and The Change Agent have been my favorites so far.

Reminder: Generic Bond eFolder Placeholders Will Be Implemented by the End of the Week

We are in the final stages of the eFolder clean-up effort in Encompass with the organization of the Bond placeholders. The new generic naming conventions for all Bond disclosures will be launched by the end of this week! This will streamline the process and reduce the number of placeholders in the dropdown list.

Please find the updated Bond eFolder Placeholder document linked below that specifies the changes. We appreciate the feedback we’ve received and have incorporated the updates.

If you have questions or need support, contact eFolder@SupremeLending.com.
